How smart lockout panels work
Each panel is integrated with the Horus platform. It releases a key or device only when the matching digital workflow reaches the right step, and it reports the physical state back to the system in real time.
A lockout panel is where digital LOTO meets the shop floor. Horus smart lockout panels dispense padlock keys and isolation devices only after the system confirms authorization and energy verification — creating an automatic, auditable custody record of every key.
Each panel is integrated with the Horus platform. It releases a key or device only when the matching digital workflow reaches the right step, and it reports the physical state back to the system in real time.
The panel keeps the field and the software in permanent sync: if the digital workflow is not satisfied, the key stays locked. This closes the gap where unauthorized re-energization usually happens.
Instead of a manual key board, Horus records who took which key, when, and under which authorization — turning custody into automatic, tamper-proof evidence.
Panels run on the on-premise platform aligned with IEC 62443 industrial cybersecurity, and hold their last authorized state during a network outage, never allowing unsafe re-energization.
Smart panels secure the physical keys; control-system integration secures the logic. Horus connects to PLC, DCS and SCADA via OPC DA/UA so that, alongside holding physical devices, it can keep equipment logically locked out during LOTO — a double barrier, physical and digital.
